Commander Michael Reese of the First District MPD confirmed that a person was shot several times and seriously injured as the result of being shot as he disembarked a X2 Metrobus near 14th and H Street, NE. The bus driver then drove out of harms way. At last report the victim was transferred to Washington Hospital Center. The police have just reported that the victim has died.
H Street was closed as a crime scene and presently remains closed. Local residents report hearing multiple semi-automatic-like gunshots. Helicopters were also seen in the area in pursuit of the assailant.
