The Hilly Awards are just a week away! They are not just for the businesses. They are also for the loyal fans of those businesses! Here are five reasons why you should buy a ticket, dress up in festive cocktail attire, and join us at this year’s Hilly Awards Gala on November 7.

This year’s Hilly Award will feature live music by Only Lonesome, playing old school bluegrass straight from the dirty 1950s bar-rooms of DC and Baltimore. The band is built around the huge vocal trio of Neel Brown (guitar), Stefan Custodi (bass), and John Seebach (mandolin), with Sam Guthridge (banjo) and Tom Lyons (fiddle) rounding out the classic bluegrass quintet lineup. The group was a 2014 nominee for the “Best Bluegrass Group” award from the Washington Area Music Association.

One of the things that makes our neighborhood so great is the many businesses and business owners who live and work on the Hill: that is what this event is all about. Come out to celebrate them, meet them and party with them.

The organization is made up of business and community leaders dedicated to building a strong economic environment on Capitol Hill for business development within the larger Washington, DC, community.
