Think Globally, Shop Locally!
I’m not one for Black Friday shopping, and I’m definitely not into this year’s controversial addition of “Black Thursday”. What do you need to buy at 10pm on Thanksgiving that simply cannot wait? But I’m all for Small Business Saturday, taking place November 26th. Not surprisingly, here at The Hill is Home we’re big fans of the Hill and the stores it has to offer.
In many cases, store owners live on the Hill and are our neighbors and friends. Millions of Americans are expected to “shop small” on Saturday, so think about joining them. From H Street to Eastern Market to 8th St and everywhere in between, there’s no shortage of places to drop a few well spent dollars this weekend.
After you “shop small” over the weekend, you can reward yourself by sitting in your pajamas and online shopping on “Cyber Monday.” Is no day sacred anymore? Welcome to the holidays.
