Jon Penndorf

Jon Penndorf has been a Capitol Hill resident since 2006 but has lived in (and close-in to) Washington DC since 1995, and wonders when he can start telling people he is “from here” instead of saying he moved here for college from New York. An architect specializing in green design, Jon works for a large architecture firm with an office in Northwest DC. Off-the-clock he enjoys spending time outside with his family, traveling, making and sampling gin and bourbon cocktails, finding new restaurants to try, and of course writing. He contributes to local and national architecture association newsletters on a regular basis in addition to writing for THIH. Jon lives with his wife, daughter, son, and cat in their SE Hill rowhouse.

Popcorn, Candy, and a Circus for a Good Cause

Thinking of running away for an evening at the circus?  How about helping out a great cause at the same time?  On Friday, October 22, you can kill the two proverbial birds with one stone by purchasing a ticket to see “Ovo,” Cirque du Soleil’s newest touring show at National Harbor.

greenHILLhome: Reducing the Waste Stream, One Tweet at a Time

Most folks who live in Hill row houses or apartments are challenged with the same situation at one time or another–not having enough space for all your stuff.    It is amazing how quickly we accumulate stuff, and how stuff can occupy the smallest of spaces and be immediately deemed “storage.”  Even if you’re blessed with […]
