Jen DeMayo

Jen DeMayo has been a waitress, an actor, a puppeteer and a writer for the Hill Rag. She worked for many years for the Atlas Performing Arts Center which has resulted in her being a relentless H Street booster/Streetcar apologist. She is originally from the New York-New Jersey area and is consequently one of the many who whine endlessly about DC’s lack of good bagels and pizza. She is the mom to two boys who currently attend DCPS (off the Hill.) No matter what she may end up accomplishing in her life, she is sure that her obituary headline will say she was the founder of Moms on the Hill.

Monday Morning Circle Time

Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Sunday’s near balmy temperatures made up for Saturday’s Pacific-Northwest style drizzle ‘n gloom. I loved working in my pjs which was broken up with baking experiments and sledding at the Capitol. […]

Monday Morning Circle Time

Brrrr. Shiver. It was a reeeeally cold weekend. My drafty old row house has some pretty frigid rooms and I’m feeling like a popcicle as I type…maybe the Snuggie isn’t such a stupid idea after all. All this cold and no snow? Boo. I keep wishing for a snow day…perhaps I’m insane but I loved Snowmagedan. Sigh. […]

First Bite: The Atlas Room

So this post was going to be written … oh a month or so ago.  You know, when the The Atlas Room first opened. But life, holidays and those pesky children kept getting in the way. My guilt and shame were only increased when H Street Great Street posted a smashing review followed shortly by Tom Sietsema’s […]
