Monday Morning Circle Time

Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Sunday’s near balmy temperatures made up for Saturday’s Pacific-Northwest style drizzle ‘n gloom.

Many of you were undoubtedly watching the Superbowl last night, either for the game itself or the commercials and half time show.  I heard many reports of long lines at grocery stores as revelers stocked up on chips and nacho fixin’s.

This weekend also marked the celebration of Lunar New Year. Happy Year of the Rabbit!  Did anyone head over to Chinatown for the parade and fireworks?

Sharee: I started my weekend by trying out a class at Capitol Hill Yoga on Friday night, which was amazing.  Saturday I went over to the open house at Eastern High, which made me wonder if they’d let me sign up for a class.  That evening we had a delicious Swiss Alps themed dinner party with friends from the neighborhood.  Sunday I led a marketing brainstorming session with a great local business and finished off the day working on a new business idea with another local entrepreneur.

Jen: Saturday I lopped off 4 or 5 inches of hair in an impulse cut at the new Tracey and Company on Barrack’s Row. I think it’s cute but I’m not sure.  Then I found out my FAVORITE waxer on the Hill has retired.  My brows look good but it’s not the same. That evening we went to Fairfax to eat dinner with my mother-in-law. It was nice but I was glad to be back on the Hill.  Parking lot restaurants freak me out. Sunday I forced the children to play outside before their long sports-filled afternoon in the man-cave. As a football-hater I care nothing for the game itself but I confess that I do take this once-a-year opportunity to eat nachos for dinner.

    Jen –

Try going to Nini at Eastern Market Nails (above Forecast). She is finally back on the Hill. You won’t be disappointed!
