Taste of The Nation in DC – DC’s Finest Pulls Out All The Stops

Photo/ Photography by EventPhotojournalism.com

Every year I say I am going to go to Taste of the Nation, and every year I balk at the ticket price and end up not going. They moved it to Nationals Park this year and a few friends expressed interest in going so I finally decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did. (They also gave us a free ticket after I purchased mine, which allowed Maria to join as well!)

The 100 participating restaurants and bars, it’s hard to not see how much the DC area’s food scene has evolved over the years.

Events like this can be bit tough on restaurants’ ability to show their best side. They don’t have their kitchen or the same space and time for prepping and arranging plates. Temperature control is an added challenge, as are the fast moving crowds. But the restaurants, for the most part, totally nailed it.

There was sushi, and soups, dips, canapes, burgers, pastas, empanadas…you name it. So is a $100 price worth it? Get a group of friends together and go explore. It actually is totally worth it and supports a great cause. We’ll definitely return next year!

The annual DC Taste of the Nation, benefits No Kid Hungry. No child should go hungry in America, but 1 in 5 kids will face hunger this year. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast, and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. When we all work together, we can make sure kids get the healthy food they need. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength. Join us at NoKidHungry.org.
