Protesting the Capitol Fence

It’s been 65 days since the Capitol fence was erected. It’s time that it comes down, and today, a bunch of Capitol Hill residents came to make that point. Here, news crews get ready.
The protest started small, with bubbles blown at the fence (RSP)
Once a critical mass of people had arrived – including Charles Allen – we convened to the fence. Here, Charles is interviewed for TV (RSP)
Capitol Hill resident Eleanor Holmes Norton showed up, and made her disgust with the fence clear. (RSP)
She then had some very eloquent words for the news media about how the fence is impacting her and her constituents (RSP)
As you can see, the security forces were on high alert within the fence (RSP)

As the crowd began to disperse, our own Maria Helena Carey gave interviews. (RSP)
The Capitol Police were not thrilled about people leaving signs along the fence. Otherwise, they were very helpful, blocking off traffic for an hour or so (RSP)

After the police requested that people return to the sidewalk, they did – lining up along the fences. Those that remained were rewarded with We the Pizza (RSP)
