Every monumental view up to this point was clearly missing one element: GARAGES. Thank goodness, we’ll be getting two of these brutalist (?) beauties to accommodate 6,000 cars according to the latest renderings from the Commanders and the DC government. The larger garage, (rendered above) would be along Independence Avenue, SE, and the smaller one would block be located near Kingman Park. Can the Commanders’ return pave the way for statehood? God I hope so. A ginormous END TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION on the endzone is going to look so [redacted] sweeeeet on national broadcasts! Greater Greater Washington
The Trayon White trial is starting, and it’s promising to be messy. NBC-Washington has some highlights on jury selection, but the tweet below from Martin Austermuhle, who has been following the trial, is absolutely divine. I mean…. he’s not wrong:

Currently in mourning because car sharing site Free2move shuttered operations in Washington DC as of Tuesday. Free2move was a cost-effective and relatively elegant solution if you needed a car for short trips. They operated in DC for seven years, starting in the spring of 2019. Oh, Free2move… did your fleet often smell like pot? Yes. Did many of your users employ the cars to go get McDonald’s and get high? Also yes. But dammit, you were good to me and my family.
H Street is looking to revamp their streetlamp signs ––probably because they want to wipe any memory that the Streetcar ever existed. Not sure why they want to mess with the beautiful laser-cuts showcasing the street-– especially with banners that look a little AI-ey–– but here we are. There will be a special Happy Hour at Henceforth, on September 24, so get out your sketchpad and your best ideas for a banner and bring them there. A girl fight got broken up with pepper spray near Eastern High School on Tuesday and the students were booked for disorderly affray. And I was today years old when I learned that affray means two were brawling. WUSA-9

Why do bus drivers have to quote patrons the fare if there is already a recording that does it? Does Randy Clarke want drivers to get punched in the face or something? Good thing the drivers’ union has at least been able to negotiate that only the drivers who are protected by a shield need to quote the fare to boarding passengers. NBC-Washington
