“Snowcrete” is the word of the week: If you’re wondering why this snow is extra hard to remove (and boy, do I have the backache to back.. uh… up that assertion), it’s because after the snow fell, ice came on top of it AND THEN we have had record low temperatures that have solidified it into a terrible, plow-breaking mess. Makes you really despise ICE, doesn’t it? Other than that, how are we doing?

Tl;dr? Schools are open tomorrow on two-hour delay, we had to contract special snow plows for this crazy snow, WMATA is slowly getting back to normal and oh yeah! More snow this weekend, maybe?!

If you’re one of the residents who’s been affected by power surges and by Pepco’s seeming inability to communicate directly, you may have been at a meeting at the Northeast Library to address residents’ concerns. Larry at Capitol Hill Corner attended and he has a two-parter on the meeting– part two isn’t up yet. Tl;dr? It was not very satisfactory.
