  • Teenager shot and killed in Southeast DC, possibly for his jacket

Tristan Johnson was killed just a block from the D.C. Armory, a hub of operations for the estimated 2,000 National Guard troops deployed to the nation’s capital to fight crime.

  • DC police investigate 3 fatal shootings within six hours on Saturday

D.C. police are investigating a series of fatal shootings that occurred within a six-hour span on Saturday, leaving three people dead.
The first incident took place at approximately 2:56 p.m. when officers responded to the 1900 block of C Street SE. They found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite efforts by EMS, the teen was pronounced dead at the hospital. Homicide detectives are leading the investigation, but there is no usable lookout information at this time.
