Hey y’all! We’re under hostile takeover though it does seem some people have responded positively to all this excess of police, but here at the Hill Buzz we have an innovation: Now with date! It only took a little under 700 buzzes for this little change to make sense, but now that it’s here I hope you delight in it. On with the show!

The National Guard is ubiquitous these days. They’ve been spotted at Little League practice, at Lincoln Park, patrolling Union Station, heavily guarding the most poorly attended Nationals game this year and more. I shared the photo above in our Instagram and the comments are interesting. Check them out here: THIH on Instagram.

Last week, there was an incident at Union Station where a mob of kids seems to have gotten completely out of control, according to some reports and social media. We shared this link from WJLA last week. However, there was not a lot of follow-up on whether Union Station would be instituting checkpoints or bar unaccompanied minors altogether. On Friday, I went around the station talking to station managers, Amtrak workers and, eventually, Amtrak police. You can check out the thread on Ex-Twitter here and here or BlueSky here and here, or you can read the whole chorizo in one place here. Tl; dr? Amtrak police would LOVE to institute checkpoints and I am waiting for an official word on whether that will happen and, if so, how soon.
