The Mayor wants to impose a tighter curfew on city teens (up to age 17) during July and August, starting at 11 pm. Is this the right move or is it an empty symbolic gesture? Would it make more sense to institute year-round school with more two-week breaks instead so that kids can minimize summer brain drain and so that routines are less disturbed therefore preventing unattended tweens and teens from looking at crime as a pastime?
