Let me start this week’s Buzz by issuing a huge and hearty congratulations to our local Petal Porch winner, Lauren Stockwell, whose masterpiece, “Somewhere Over the Cranebow” came back for a second year, in an even bigger, more lovely form. Big congratulations, Lauren! What a stunning entry! (Go to her Instagram so you can see videos of it!)

A week from today, on May 3, join the Ward 6 Public School Parents’ Organization (W6PSPO) and a host of friends and local celebrities for one of the cutest events of the year: Bike and Roll to School Day at Lincoln Park! Get your day off to a fun start with hugs from Wendy the Water Drop and music by the incomparable Eastern High School Marching Band. The Payne and Miner Elementary cheerleaders will also be there, as well as Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and Mayor Muriel Bowser. The DC Public Charter School Board has new digs, at 100 M Street SE. Looks like they will be in a less cramped situation than their now former headquarters, and they can have Pink Taco for lunch every day if they want. Washington Business Journal
