It’s another lovely Tuesday in the nation’s capital and I can almost smell the dry-erase boards and the Pine-Sol: It’s the last week before school starts!

What other excitement is happening around the interwebs?

ANC 6B10 commissioner Denise Krepp wrote a sternly-worded opinion in this weekend’s Washington Post, regarding Charles Allen’s proposed early-release legislation for some violent offenders.

Every point requires a counterpoint, and Charles Allen and Karl Racine did just that: They defend their decision to push for criminal justice reform. Washington Post

In more council-related news, Greater Greater Washington is calling for two WMATA board members to resign, after a Washington Post article revealed their involvement in the Jack Evans ethics scandal. The GGWash editorial board has already called for Jack Evans to resign from the DC Council, but now you can also add your name to a petition.

Washington City Paper takes a look at sports betting coming to bars –most notably, Dirty Water and Duffy’s on H Street NE and the Brig on Barracks Row.
