Ralph Breaks the Internet screens in Canal Park tonight

I will not discuss this heat and instead offer you ideas on how to distract yourself from the fact your clothes have melted onto your body and you have decided ice cream deserves its own ledge on the food pyramid.

Tonight there is a screening of Ralph Breaks the Internet at Canal Park, part of the Capitol Riverfront Summer Film Series. The movie will begin at sundown but folks gather beginning at 7 p.m. Bring a picnic and please hydrate.

Friday Art Night at CHAW is Working from the Figure. Participants are welcome to paint or draw. This is adults only, as you will be drawing a nude model. All levels are welcome. The drop-in fee is $15 and easels are first come first served.

Saturday, celebrate the new tennis stadium on top of Union Market at Market Madness Table Tennis Showdown. All ages and skills levels are welcome too compete. You can register in advance or on site. The fun starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday is the Grand African Run beginning at Yards Park. Everyone over age 11 is welcome to participate on the 5K. Runners will be joined by world famous athletes of African origins as well as musicians, actors, speakers and leaders.

Pearl Street is hosting a DC United Watch Party from 2 to 6 p.m.
DJ Stylus Chris will be on site pre-game. There will be games and prizes and all ages are welcome. Dogs too!
