Ah summertime– the perfect time to linger outside and listen to live music. This is a reminder to check out Jazz at the Garden, hosted by the National Gallery of Art at the Sculpture Garden, Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. Click here for details. This week, you’ll be treated to Black Masala.

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of listening to Christian Fresno at City Winery and I fell in love both with his guitar playing and with the City Winery Wine Garden: What a great venue for intimate concerts where you can actually interact with the performers. You can listen to Fresno’s incredible guitar playing here. City Winery always has a great, varied lineup of shows and this week is no exception: On Sunday, Joey Landreth takes the stage (listen here); on Tuesday, June 25, The Woggles perform (listen here).

If it’s jazz you’re craving, you know who’s got your back: Mr. Henry’s! Every Wednesday is the Capitol Hill Jazz Jam, starting now and going to 11 p.m. Every Thursday, you can expect bluegrass and every Friday it’s jazz bands. This Friday, June 21, you can listen to the Lionel Lyle Quintet, starting at 8 p.m.

At the Pie Shop, you can catch a Virginia band with a delightful name this Tuesday, June 25: Stray Fossa takes the stage at 8 pm. Tickets

At Rock & Roll Hotel, you can catch Sizzy Rocket on Friday at 9 p.m. To listen and for tickets, click here.

It’s time to line up for tickets for late summer and fall concerts. For those with tweens and teens, let me remind you that the Jonas Brothers are coming to Capital One Arena on August 15. Tickets and info here.

For the fans of more ethereal and experimental, yet radio friendly, hooks, DC’s own SHAED is coming to the 9:30 Club on October 10. Tickets go on sale this Friday. More info here.

Noah Kahan is only 22 and has a new record out on Friday and he’s coming to the 9:30 Club on October 7. Listen to “Cynic” here and make some fall plans, maybe? It’s catchy and his falsetto is ever so ethereal.

I’ve been listening to Haunt You by Social House and it’s a great track with breezy, soulful feel and a line (“…sometimes I just f-ing wanna call you”) which anyone can identify with at some point. Social House will be opening for Ariana Grande’s Sweetener tour on Friday, so if you can still get tickets to that, good luck. In the meantime, listen to the track here.
