Bombay Street Food 2 Officially Opens on Friday and a Japanese Style Bar is Coming to Barracks Row

I think it was our friend Barred in DC who first noted the name of the restaurant sounds like a movie sequel, which is why I always want to add, “Electric Boogaloo” to the name of Bombay Street Food 2, probably. Anyway, if offerings like Anda Bhurji  (scrambled eggs with vegetables) or Anda Keema Bhurji  (minced chicken and scrambled egg) sound good to you for brunch, or if you want chicken tikka masala or goat curry for dinner, you can start planning your extreme Netflix and Chill routine starting Friday, June 21, when Bombay Street Food –in the former Garrison space– will be officially open. The hours are as follows:

Lunch: Monday – Friday, 11:30 am to 2:30 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 11:30 am – 3 pm

Dinner: Sunday – Thursday, 4:30 pm to 10 pm; Friday & Saturday, 4:30 pm – 10:30 pm

Incidentally, Larry over at Capitol Hill Corner recently found out that the place formerly occupied by Porrón by Anxo and long-time lesbian bar Phase I will become a Japanese pub, or izakaya. The owner opening it is the same person behind RedRocks on H Street NE. More details here at Larry’s blog, and the original report from Washington Business Journal here.
