Kids:

Support Your Local Middle School Artists: Shrek, Jr. is This Weekend

If you think all kids’ recitals are aww-worthy but a little painful, the Stuart Hobson Drama Players is here to change your mind entirely: The troupe, directed by Ms. Tori Pergerson, is an extremely professional group of 6-8 graders. Together with Ms. Claire Smullen’s art direction and Ms. Danyelle Kensey’s choreography– as well as the combined efforts of a small army of parent volunteers– the effort always yields straight up magic. You may have read my gushing about past productions such as Into The Woods, Jr. and Beauty and the Beast, Jr. (where, disclaimer, my son was a very saucy Lumière), but you really have to see the effort these kids put into every performance for yourself.

This season’s offering is Shrek, Jr. based off the movie itself. There will be ogres and all manner of fairy tale characters spilling out of the stage, as well as the perfect villain to boo-hiss! Plus, your ticket goes directly back to ensuring that future generations of neighborhood children get to enjoy and be directly involved in bringing future productions to life. Do it for the kids! They deserve a packed house both nights! To buy tickets, click here.
