Celebrate Earth Day this year with a hometown parade! On Friday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m., join the entire student body of School Within School at Goding (SWS), 920 F Street NE, as they promenade toward Lincoln Park for a trash-free picnic snack made by the students themselves in the FoodPrints kitchen.

All grade levels will participate in the parade, from preschool to 5th grade, as well as the school’s medically fragile student body. Every child has chosen to speak for a part of the natural world and will carry a piece of recycled art during the parade.

If you want to celebrate Earth Day in style:

WHAT: SWS’s Earth Day Parade

WHEN: Friday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Begins at School Within School, 920 F Street NE and ends at Lincoln Park, 11th and East Capitol Street. Look for 300 children marching with their teachers– can’t miss.

WHY: “We should take time to celebrate the Earth!” – Malda
