On Friday, November 17, Solid State Books will open up its doors– for a pop-up store. The pop-up will open just a couple of doors down from their permanent location within the Apollo building, 600 H Street NE, where they will operate through the holidays. According to Solid State Books co-owner Scott Abel, the bookstore will open at its permanent location after the holidays, in 2018.
I was able to sneak a peek at the pop-up space today. Although there is still some work to be done as far as shelving of books goes, there were cheeky cards, a display of Cherry Blossom Creative maps and cool store-branded totes and t-shirts– can’t wait to see the finished product!
The store will be open from 10-7 starting tomorrow. Solid State plans to have activities during Small Business Saturday (November 25), as well as to host children’s story time at the Apollo on weekday and weekend mornings, soon to be announced.
