Yesterday at around 4:40 p.m., a local woman traveling eastbound on E Street SE collided at the intersection of 12th and E with a Mercedes-Benz SUV traveling south on 12th Street SE. The cyclist was severely injured and was taken to a local hospital. At the time she was admitted, she was in critical condition. A Metropolitan Police Department public affairs officer let us know at 1:14 p.m. that the cyclist is now in serious condition and that the accident is still under investigation.
