#BARMADNESS17: Results, Elite Eight, GO!

First off, DANG, GAMECOCKS!! (For an analysis of just what I mean by that, read the Post’s take on that.) Seems like this year’s NCAA March Madness has been, just like all of life lately, crazy and unpredictable. Don’t worry: Our own #BarMadness17 has also provided some unpredictability. First, the results from the weekend:

Your bracket, as it stands. Who will reign supreme?

The Brig, which easily defeated more established opponents Boxcar Tavern and Boundary Road, finally succumbed to Union Station-area heavyweight The Dubliner (an establishment some purists may argue is not Capitol Hill because it’s on the wrong side of North Capitol Street, but we digress). The Dubliner will go up against the rookie that could, Joselito. Even though the Spanish restaurant has only been open a few months, we love their enthusiasm! Who will advance to the Foamy Four?

Barrel, who defeated not only sister bar the 201 Bar but also H Street institution Rock ‘N Roll Hotel, will go toe-to-toe with living legend Tune Inn. Will the classy bourbon joint bring a lot of spunk to the fight with a veteran, or will it be deer-butts?

First-year winner The Pug is THIRSTY. Will the H Street contender live up to its name and pummel Bluejacket? Or will the beautiful Navy Yard brewery and pub grind them like so much barley and make them into a light-bodied lager? YOU DECIDE!

Finally, the place where DC songbird Roberta Flack got her start, Mr. Henry’s, is going up against last-year winner Union Pub. A true clash of titans, this bout is a nail-biter.

Below, four polls. Eight bars go in, four winners square off in our FOAMY FOUR.

Let’s do this, Capitol Hill. For Gryffindor, or whatever! You can vote until Wednesday March 29 at 11:59 pm.
