Betsy DeVos to visit Ward 6 Middle School Friday

Our fresh, new and highly unqualified… wait no, I meant to say highly controversial Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, is planning to visit Jefferson Academy Friday morning at 10 a.m. Jefferson is a middle school in Southwest and a part of Ward 6.

If you happen to have a free minute this morning, think about stopping by 801 7th Street SW, Washington, DC 20024 sometime around 9 a.m. and wish her well and remind her that DC is doing just fine.

Cut the political editorializing and just ‘pass along information’ like your original post on HandsOffDC stated was this blog’s purpose. The Hill is diverse in political viewpoints just as in every other aspect. What you may deem a negative impact to the community, another may view as a welcome change. This blog would best serve the residents of the Hill by bringing us together around community events and news rather than driving more wedges between neighbors.

    • Libby Bee says:

Do you really view DeVos as a “welcome change”? Did you watch her hearing and her subsequent inability to answer *any* question asked of her?

I agree with Brian. This isn’t journalism. I’m disappointed with The Hill is Home.

    • Tom says:

Agree. I can get my politics anywhere. It (was) nice to have a place that was free of political commentary.

  2. Thank you for your feedback. We do our best to stay nonpartisan, and to focus on local issues. We plan to maintain a focus of community-focused content. While politics may slip in occasionally (our writers and editors have many different political views as well), we hope you will stick around for our the main focus of our content.
