Give your local music scene some love on Wednesday, November 16 as D.C. natives Exit Vehicles take the stage at Black Cat. Since forming in 2013, this 4-piece indie rock band has released one LP and one EP and played countless shows in the D.C. area. Boat Burning and Technicians, both of which are also D.C. natives, will support Exit Vehicles. Get your tickets here.

The Paper Kites have captured the hearts of indie folk-rock lovers throughout Australia and have even been featured in Rolling Stone magazine. This quintet is traveling to the states in support of their sophomore album twelvefour, which has received rave reviews. You can experience The Paper Kites on November 17 at U Street Music Hall. With hits like “Ex’s & Oh’s” and “America’s Sweetheart,” Elle King has captured the airwaves. This Grammy nominated singer has opened massive tours for the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Modest Mouse, and Train with her blended style of country, soul, rock, blues, and pop. King will rock the 9:30 Club stage for 2 nights on November 18 and November 19 as part of her first headlining tour. Even though it’s a holiday week, the opportunity to find up and coming music never ceases. On November 20, you can experience the indie electronic beats and rapid-fire rhymes of K. Flay at the Rock & Roll Hotel. Her unique and seamless mix of drums, guitar, and bass-filled beats has earned her a spot on stage with huge acts such as Snoop Dogg, AWOLNATION, Third Eye Blind, and Passion Pit. How about a throwback for your Thanksgiving weekend? DC’s own White Ford Bronco will be bringing the 90s nostalgia to 9:30 Club on November 26. This local 90s cover band has continued to gain popularity since they began in 2008 and frequently sells out shows in the area. As the product of Sam Roberts, the singer/songwriter whose debut album became one of the best-selling records in Canadian music history, the Sam Roberts Band has amassed a huge fan base.
