Elections:

Meet the Candidates: Phil Tsolakidis ANC 6E04

We have offered to post brief statements from all of the ANC candidates running for seats on Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods that we cover here on The Hill is Home.  These statements are not endorsements and have been posted exactly as submitted by the candidates.

Phil is running for commissioner in ANC6E04 because he is passionate about making his neighborhood the best it can be.  The neighborhood has seen tremendous improvements over the past few years under Rachelle Nigro’s stead, and Phil would like to see these improvements continue. The community at its best will be even safer and cleaner than it is today.  Maintaining the historic feel to the neighborhood is also a key element of his platform, all while looking ahead and catering to the future needs of residents.  Phil would like to see fewer vacant and blighted houses, fewer broken windows, and a much bigger sense of pride in the community.  With a concentration on accomplishing these goals for the neighborhood, Phil believes our best days are ahead of us.

Phil Tsolakidis is a consultant specializing in business/process optimization at a service disabled, veteran owned, small business and is currently working on a program called Boots to Business, which teaches entrepreneurial skills to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families.  Phil earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Finance as a graduate of the University of Maryland. In his free time, Phil takes pleasure in hands-on home projects: restoring furniture, renovating his house and woodworking. He also enjoys writing, cooking and playing bass.
