My name is Cam Norris. I am a new homeowner here in Ward 6, but I have lived in Washington for almost 10 years. I wanted to live here for the same reasons I am running to represent us all on the ANC: I like getting a friendly wave from people who are happy where they live, who work hard to keep up their homes and to make our neighborhood inviting. I enjoy being close to small businesses who know their customers by name. I’m proud that the people I’ve talked to so far know that the ANC works for them, to make sure our city government hears from us, and knows what we need. I’m not a politician, and I don’t even work for the government. I’m not running because I’ve got a bone to pick with anyone, and I’m not going to use a volunteer elected position to make me feel powerful. I just want everyone in our neighborhood to have someone who will listen to them, who will take their words where they can be heard and who will make sure that all of our concerns are addressed, so we keep that same neighborhood spirit.
