I don’t know about you, but I can’t keep up with the restaurants popping up on H Street NE. There’s been a ongoing influx of new restaurants and now there’s a great opportunity to try many of them: Taste of H Auction this Sunday, November 8, 2015. You’ll get to sample menu items from 15 H Street restaurants, all under one roof. Of course, a stroll home might be a good gastric choice afterward a tasty (and generous) meal featuring everything from sushi and fried fish, to German, Mexican and Ethiopian fare.
The Friends of JO Wilson, a local non‐profit community group that has been collaborating with the school for fifteen years, works to enhance learning opportunities at JO Wilson Elementary School in Northeast, are hosting the event at the Atlas Performing Arts Center on H Street NE from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Participants can buy tickets online. Admission includes tastings from 15 H Street restaurants, open bar, music and live & silent auction.
Funds raised in previous years have paid for teacher trainings, school‐wide field trips, and family emergency funds, providing students with vital educational tools and technology.
Event tickets range from $45 (regular admission) to $75 (VIP admission). Auction items include a private dinner for 15 at Sally’s Middle Name, Daily Rider bike, Week‐long beach stay, YMCA swimming lessons and much more. Restaurants serving tastings include Ben’s Chili Bowl, &Pizza, Smith Commons, The Queen Vic, Vendetta, Sticky Rice, Horace & Dickies, Addis Ethiopian Restaurant, Star & Shamrock, Boundary Road, Impala, DC, Harvest, Indigo, SOL Mexican Cantina, and Dangerously Delicious Pies.
