Want to know more about Neighborhood Watches? The Metropolitan Police  has an entire page dedicated to Neighborhood Watch groups. From their page:

Neighborhood Watch is a community-based crime prevention program where neighbors look out for each other’s safety, property and homes in a systematic and sustained way. It is based on the idea that when residents, businesses, clergy, police and other partners look out for the safety of the neighborhood, establish and maintain open lines of communication, and collaborate to resolve problems of crime and disorder, they create safer, friendlier and healthier neighborhoods.

There are other Neighborhood Watch training sessions upcoming in different areas of the city (if you live closer to Trinidad, you may want to pencil in November 21, 7 p.m. at Trinidad Recreation Center).

To find a full list of sessions in the neighborhood hub nearest you, visit the Metropolitan Police Department’s Neighborhood Watch groups page by clicking here.
