Beer-up for a Cause with the DC Home Brewers

What’s your favorite part of fall? Is it the crunching of the leaves and the pumpkin-themed everything? Is it the need to wear sweaters and boots?

No, it’s the beer. Duh! They don’t call it Oktoberfest because it happens in May.

If you love beer or have friends who do, go to Bardo Brewpub, 1200 Bladensburg Road NE this Saturday October 18, 2014, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Join the friendly folks from The DC Homebrewers Club for a barbecue and fundraiser to spread the joy and delight of making beers and ales in the comfort of your own home.

The event has no cover, and a barbecue food ticket is $10 (there’s also vegetarian options, for the meatless beer lovers out there). The event is also selling Bardo t-shirts for $4 each. You can purchase your tickets ahead of time at this EventBrite page.

The afternoon will also feature a homebrew demonstration, as well as a raffle where you can get cool stuff from the Washington Nationals, Capital Bikeshare, and Churchkey, among other donors.

The proceeds support a good cause: this year’s beneficiary is the Common Good City Farm, a farm on a half-acre lot in LeDroit Park.  Common Good supports low-income D.C. residents by teaching them how to grow food in an urban setting.

What: DC Homebrewers Club Barbecue and Fundraiser, to benefic Common Good City Farm.

When: Saturday, October 18, 2014, 1-4 pm

Where: Bardo Brewpub, 1200 Bladensburg Road, NE

Get tickets! Prost!
