Tonight Cool chick Mary Timony’s band EX HEX plays at the Rock and Roll Hotel tonight with Hospitality. Tickets are $13 and the doors open at 7pm.

Friday and Saturday you can catch Hamlet performed by the company from England’s Globe Theatre at our very own Folger Theatre.. Two days only so get your tickets asap.

Saturday H Street Main Street is celebrating the eventual launch of the streetcar with free pedi cab rides along the route. I guess that makes sense?  Several new businesses along the corridor will be celebrating with offical grand openings so it is a good time to check out one of the new spaces  Art By The Glazz, 407 H Street;  Halftime Sports Bar, 1427 H Street;  H Street Organic Market, 806 H Street; Island Dyes, 331 H Street; Micho’s Lebanese Grill , 500 H Street; Po Boy Jim, 709 H Street; The Pursuit – Wine Bar & Grill , 1421 H Street.

Over at the Hill Center you can talk beer with other beer nerds at Exploring the Dynamic Flavors of Beer with beer journalist and cookbook author John Holl. At this two-hour class expect to explore the history of beer in this guided tasting with four different beers that will illuminate the past, dive deep into food pairings, and debunk many of the myths and misconceptions that surround the popular beverage.  Class begins at 11 and costs $25. Saturday evening is part 1 of the 2014 Capitol Hill Chamber Music Festival. The CPE BACH TRICENTENNIAL celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth in 1714 of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach with solo and trio sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach’s most well-known son. The program will include the solo for unaccompanied flute, a harpsichord solo, the duo for flute and violin, a sonata for flute and continuo, another for obbligato harpsichord and flute, and trio sonatas for flute, violin and harpsichord. The programs will take place at 8:00 p.m., at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 3rd & A Streets, SE.  The suggested donation (a free will offering) will be $20 or $25. Students 18 years of age and under are free. Tickets will be available at www.brownpapertickets.com and at the door.
