Hill Buzz told us Reservation 12 development plans were STILL generating drama…as they are at the current moment, thanks to Councilman Vincent Orange’s grand vision. We also shared news about how now-Mayoral Candidate Tommy Wells beat the plastic bag lobbyist to begin the plastic bag tax, as well as his proposal to restrict access to city’s homeless shelters to DC residents.
We published a “It happened to me” letter from a fellow residents after a spate of robberies in the neighborhood.
Jon also filled us in on the breadth of the District’s recycling program. Everything from batteries and computers to old appliances (like blenders) and hazardous waste can be dropped off on the first for proper disposal at the Transfer Station and sent along to an EPA-approved facility where they are sorted, deconstructed, and recycled or safely disposed the first Saturday of each month.
