The Craft Cocktail Bracket: Wisdom vs. The Eddy Bar at Hank's

Last but not least for our March Madness first-round match-ups, the craft cocktail bracket.

Forget describing bars by their looks or appearance, let’s talk drinks. At Wisdom and Hank’s that’s all that really matters.

The Eddy Bar at Hank’s Oyster Bar is the cinderella newcomer to Capitol Hill — the Wichita State Shockers if you will. The bar opened last summer, and has been cranking out amazing drink after amazing drink ever since. Most recently, they’ve been serving up oyster shooters with vodka-infused Old Bay. It’s also home to one of my favorite drinks, the “Forgetfully, Fernet” — Jameson, lemon and ginger, delicately poured around frozen Fernet Branca.

Wisdom, on the other hand has danced in the tournament before. If anything, the bar is a perennial favorite, much like the Louisville Cardinals. For years it’s been the go-to spot for cocktails on the Hill, and this year, the bar is getting into the madness by hosting its own tournament,  “Marchtini” Madness. Competing in their Final Four are four very strong martinis:

The East: Bluecoat gin with housemade tonic
The South: Dickel Tennessee whiskey with praline liqueur
The Midwest: dragon rum and Chicago hibiscus liqueur
The West: smoked tequila and chocolate.

Right now, it’s really anyone’s game. You decide who wins, so vote now!
