Budding tween yogis now have a local class just for them. Sunday February 26th the H Street branch of Yoga District began a six-week class designed for kids ages 7 -13. The hour-long classes begin at 1:30 and will cover yoga basics such as breathing and mediation techniques as well as simple and fun asanas (poses.) According to their website, “the regular practice of vinyasas, standing postures, and seated exercises will accelerate the development skills such as small controlled movements, whole-body coordination and control, and balance. Additionally, breathing exercises as well as sustained postures help develop patience and increase focus which lead to a calm sense of being and possibly even a better night’s sleep.”

Parents are welcome to either stay with their child or drop him or her off. The studio is located above a nail salon so mom can get a mani-pedi while Junior learns the meaning of Om.
