Revitalize Your Workout at Capitol Hill MAFA

Maybe you’re looking for a new way to mix up your workout routine or a place to entertain the kids, or, let’s be honest here – an indoor activity to escape the heat that doesn’t involve sitting inside on your couch all weekend. If any of these descriptions apply, you should consider checking out Capitol Hill MAFA (Martial Arts & Fitness Academy) at 1443 D St SE, behind the Payne Elementary baseball field.

Martial arts classes for kids start as young as age 3 up to age 12. Adult classes include Thai boxing and mixed martial arts, as well as yoga and women’s self defense classes. MAFA Community Day is on Saturday, August 6th from 9a to 2p. Stop by and help your fellow neighbors clean up the neighborhood, paint or plant flowers. MAFA instructors will be on hand hosting free seminars and membership specials will also be available. There will be refreshments, face painting and a moon bounce for the little ones.

Beginning Sundays in August, a men’s only mixed martial arts class will be offered from 11a-12:30p. The sessions will be led by WKA Muay Thai Champion and Mixed Martial Arts contender Justin Jones. All skill levels are welcome.
