Every spring I am so excited for this lovely weather, and I leave my window open at night to enjoy the cool breeze, only to wake up in the morning to the cruel reminder that spring pollen in DC is freakin’ brutal. How is it that after growing up here, my body still can’t deal with whatever it is that blooms this time of year? Oh, the price we pay for beautiful spring flowers around here! Based on how many people in my office are popping allergy meds at work, I think our city is single-handedly keeping the Claritin and Zyrtec makers in business.
So as you wait for your allergy medicine to kick in (or if you just want to avoid your inbox), here’s some morning reading to help you procrastinate.
- JDLand summarized the neighborhood meeting on “Fight Ward 8 ‘Annexation'”
- ANC Commissioner Brian Flahaven shared the takeaways from the Hill East meeting on redistricting.
- Greater Greater Washington talked about cyclist and driver education. It’s not really Hill-specific but it’s certainly relevant with how many cyclists and runners we have in the neighborhood.
- Tasting Table profiled Queen Vic.
- People’s District profiled Jessica Wodatch, the Executive Director of Two Rivers Public Charter School.
- Rebuilding Place had a rebuttal for a WAMUstory crediting the Rock & Roll Hotel for the H Street revitalization (via Frozen Tropics)
- We Love DC interviewed Ted Bulletin’s Eric Brannon: Part 1 and Part 2.
