Like beer?  Like history?  Like talking history while drinking beer?  The U.S. Capitol Historical Society is hosting a Capitol Hill History Pub Tour on Wednesday, August 4 at 6:00 pm.  Guide Steve Livengood, who has been giving tours since 1964, will take participants on a tour of several Hill watering holes, offering stories and rumors that surround our neighborhood “institutions.”

The U.S. Capitol Historical Society was founded in 1962 to educate the public and the history and culture of the Capitol building, the neighborhood, and the people who have served the nation.  The Society produces a number of online and in-person educational activities, one of which is the Pub Tour.  The last Tour occurred in October 2009 and stopped at three local establishments on the “Senate Side” of the Hill.  This summer’s event is billed as the “House Side” tour.

Tickets for the event are $20 for Society members, $25 for nonmembers.  Admission does not include the price of drinks, but does include drink specials, snacks, and prizes from participating establishments.  Registrants must be 21 or older. Space is limited so if you are interested call (202) 543-8919 x13 soon to reserve your spot.
