So remember how this time last week it was 60 degrees? Yeah…who can we talk to about bringing back those kinds of temperatures? The snow is fun and all, and this last storm was particularly pretty, but I think we’ve had more than enough for the year and I am now officially ready for spring. I’m tired of shoveling the sidewalk, slipping on the ice, and paying insane heating bills. Punxsutawney Phil better say the end of winter is near today!
- The Blotter tells quite the story of the arrest of a burglar on 6th Street, SE – the guy did not want to go down easily, resulting in an intense struggle with two off-duty police officers in which one was grabbed in a very-not-nice way. Thankfully, it resulted in an arrest… and probably a bag of ice for Officer Horos.
- We Love DC and JDLand announced that Dave Matthews will play at Nationals Park on July 23rd.
- On his blog, ANC Commissioner Norm Metzger shared some more information on the Marine Barracks’s “Community Integrated Master Plan” (CIMP). JDLand also provided a great summary of the details.
- According to Frozen Tropics, the Real Housewives of DC stopped by SOVA last week. I have no explanation for this one…
- Washington Business Journal reported that the Navy needs to expand beyond their current space at the Navy Yard in Southeast, which should mean good things for the development around the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
- Prince of Petworth gave Wisdom a good review. I can’t believe I still haven’t found a night to try this place out – it’s been at the top of my list for far too long!
