Capitol Hill Bikes Signs New Lease

As reported last week, Capitol Hill Bikes has been in active negotiations to sign a lease for a new location on Barracks Row.  Today, Denise D’Amour informed us that she signed a lease for 719 8th Street SE yesterday, and she hopes to complete the move and re-open by February or March.  She told us that while they want to re-open quickly, “We just want to do it right, not only in the build out but in the training and expectations of our staff.  This is an opportunity for a fresh start and we want to get it right.”

In the meantime, they plan to have a small bike repair stand out front to serve their customers.  More details will soon be available on their website, CapitolHillBikes.com.

Update: Capitol Hill Bikes sent out the following email to its customers this morning:
We are pleased to announce that we have entered into a new lease at 719 8th Street, SE, just a few steps from our current location.  We will be moving between now and New Year’s, and hope to re-open very soon.  Look for an announcement of our grand opening in early spring.

In the meantime, to serve the needs of our customers, we will try to keep the sera repair stand available in our new space for walk-in repairs as many days as possible during our build-out.  Please call ahead to make sure we’re open before bringing your bike in.

We are so grateful for your outpouring of support during this time of transition.  We look forward to continuing to be your full-service neighborhood bike shop, bringing the joy of cycling to people of all ages and levels of expertise!
