Some days, it’s good to drink something that you know is not just refreshing and tasty, but that is also going to get your body chock-full of good nutrients that will counterbalance having eaten that cheeseburger and the bag of Doritos for breakfast (#notjudging). But if you’re a busy person who doesn’t have much time to shop –or shower and  get out of the house, say– you don’t have time to drive to a juice bar, a new business may change the way you nourish your body. Read on: you can get good stuff for your body AND receive a 10% discount, just for being our readers!

Alive Juices is that new business by programmer-turned-juicemaster Rachan Malhotra. Rachan has tested and perfected his juices, which are based on Ayurvedic practices. While all of them contain something he calls “Big 5,” a mixture of sprouts, ginger, garlic, apples, and lemon that could sound not so appetizing, the truth is that the juices are really good. The juices are made in a commercial kitchen in Silver Spring, and come in pop-sealed 16 oz. Mason jars, so you know they are fresh. Rachan can deliver to your house or place of work, too. He recently brought me samples of his juices and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised: the juices are fresh and very tasty, even though the juices’ colors can give you pause at first. I dislike beets intensely, despite years of trying to find a way to like them; in juice form, though, they are surprisingly palatable.
