Because Every Great Neighborhood Has a Running Club: The H Street Runners

RUN ANYA RUN

If Anya can have a cheerleader, you can have a whole squad. Go run with the H Street Runners! Photo by María Helena Carey

We’re all looking a little flabby post-holidays, it’s true. Some of us may have started resolutions to eat only salads, or only green veggies, or only on even or odd days. Others may have started bets so as to shame people with slower metabolisms and weaker wills into buying rounds of bourbon or beer to those who will be looking more svelte in a few scant weeks. For those of you who love running, and live close to H Street, there is a band of merry runners who’d like to make your acquaintance so you can all keep running happily (and lithely) into the year.

H Street Runners meets at the corner of 11th & H NE (in front of the CaBi station) on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. On Tuesdays, they run four miles, so if you lace up your sneakers and join them tonight, they will take it easier on you. If you wait until Saturday, they run up to 10 miles then .(This is probably very good news to those of you who are more seasoned runners.) The H Street Runners welcome all paces, so don’t let your newbie status deter you from joining in the fun.

If you want more information, you can find them on Facebook and on Meetup.com.
