ANC 6A Chairman to Challenge Tommy Wells

According to Mike Neibauer at the Washington Business Journal, Kelvin Robinson – the Chairman of ANC 6A – is dropping his bid for an at-large council seat in order to challenge Tommy Wells for the Ward 6 councilmember.

This leaves former head of DC Department of Parks and Recreation, Clark Ray, left to challenge Phil Mendelson for the at-large seat.

Also running for the Ward 6 seat is Jim DeMartino, on the Republican side.

Curious move by Kelvin, but the good news is anyone who is concerned about Phil Mendelson’s bottling up and killing public safety/anti-crime legislation in his Public Safety Committee and his recent opposition to streetcars on H Street now has a clear choice in Clark Ray.

Mr. DeMartino faces enough of an uphill battle in this city – he might want to fill out his website a little more, or pare it down to just the pages he actually has content for. All the empty pages don’t make for a good impression.
