The Hill is going through an increasing rate of change these days and needs strong leadership. I have been privileged to represent the ANC 6B04 single member district for the past 9 years and am running for reelection to continue to serve its residents. Throughout, I have worked to ensure the concerns of the residents of my district are heard.
My focus over the next two years will continue to be:
- Communicating with and assisting residents
- Enhancing neighborhoods
- Improving our mobility options
- Preserving open space for all
- Maintaining strong relationships with Hill businesses
The future will present continued challenges and new opportunities for the residents of my neighborhood. New residents and businesses will come to the Eastern Market area and more restaurants to Barracks Row. Meanwhile, the density of residents is bound to increase in Hill East as five large condo/apartment projects are completed. The Lower 8th area of my district is finally being viewed as having development potential and we are redesigning Virginia Avenue Park for installation once the CSX tunnel project is completed. But, it’s not all about development, there will always be parking issues, historic preservation controversies, and sidewalks and alleys that need to be repaired. I am looking forward to being reelected so I can continue working together with my fellow Commissioners on all of the many issues that affect the quality of our daily lives on Capitol Hill.
