So your phone is ringing with calls from candidate and your mailboxes are stuffed with their smiling faces. But it will all be over on Tuesday.  (Don’t forget to write in Krepp! He’s the candidate Congress deserves!)

If you want to just hide from the last minute campaigning I have a few suggestions.

Tonight bring the kids to the Atlas for a special Boogie Babes Happy Hour at 4:30pm with kiddie duo the Sugar Free All Stars. If concerts with kids aren’t your thing head down H and check out Bluegrass night at the Argonaut. The Delafield String Band performs at 8pm.

Friday morning a group of students from Gallaudet University will unveil a “Nation’s Capital Grocer” mural that will be displayed inside the H Street Giant store. According to the press release “Giant engaged the school’s art department to create the mural for display in the foyer of the store.  It serves as a visual recognition of their shared commitment to education and community wellbeing, and creates something special for the new store and community members who will enjoy it for years to come.”

If you are still in the mood for fiddles The Corner Store  for the New Zealand based Americana duo  Tattletale Saints and 10 String Symphony. The show begins at 7pm and ticketsa re $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Over at the Hill Center jazz bassist Kris Funn brings his unique music to the next District Sounds concert with the Washington Post’s Chris Richards at 7 p.m. Chris with chat with Kris for about half an hour which will be followed by a concert. (Kris Funn performs frequently at the Atlas and he is fantastic.) Happy hour pricing will be available on an assortment drink all night long. Purchase tickets online.

Saturday At the Atlas Indian dance expert Aparna Ramaswamy for the DC debut of her piece Sannidhi. Meaning Sacred Space, Sannidhi refers to the oneness of the natural world and richness of human relationships. Performances are Saturday night at 8pm and Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Sunday might be a great time to tour Nationals Park. Tours begin at 10:30. 11:30, 1:30 and 2:30 and cost cost $15 per person with a reduced prices for seniors, kids, military, and students.  Ticket can be purchased through the nationals website,  at the box office, or at the kiosks outside the Park.
