Holiday Season is almost over. I hope you are holding up . Just a few more weeks of merriment and then we can all hibernate for a while catching up on House of Cards.

Tonight get jazzy with Matt Wilson’s Christmas Tree-O at the Atlas. Drummer Matt Wilson and friends play your holiday faves with a jazz twist. A charming and maybe lower key take on the holidays. Stop in early for the Atlas’ monthly happy hour with drink specials and tunes by DJ RBI. Tickets are available here.

Friday The Library of Congress Chorale will present a celebration of the choral traditions of Great Britain, with classic, quirky, and eclectic selections that span over 500 years of composers, featuring music by Tallis, Purcell, Holst, Rutter, and Vaughan Williams. The concert takes place at noon in the Coolidge Auditorium of the  Thomas Jefferson Building and is free and open to the public.

Saturday check out the Folger Consort as they perform Christmas in New Spain: Early Music of Mexico and Peru. The concert consists of 16th- and 17th-century Latin American and Spanish composers for the Christmas season and lively rhythms of early baroque dances. With vocal ensemble, guitar, harp, violin, viol, and bassoon. performances are all weekend long but attendees are invited to come early for the 2pm concert to check out the period instruments up close. Tickets are available here.
