Tuesday Morning Circle Time

Good morning everyone! To those of you who didn’t get President’s Day off yesterday I’m sorry we’re a day late. THIH follows the federal holiday schedule very closely. I’m sure that information is around here somewhere…

But no matter if yours was of the two or three day variety, it was a pretty great weekend. Friday was glorious and warm and saw restaurants scrambling to open their patios to accommodate the Vitamin D starved masses. From those heady high temperatures peaking in the mid 70s we are today faced with snow warnings and no three days weekends on the horizon until Memorial day.

Chin up people. We still have the Oscars and INTERSECTIONS to look forward to!

So what did you do this weekend?

Jon: Saturday was spent running errands and ended with a fantastic meal with friends at our home.  On Sunday we took our 3-year old to her first movie, Gnomeo & Juliet.  It was cute and I appreciated going to an uncrowded theatre early in the day for a more reasonable (but not truly reasonable) ticket price.  Sunday afternoon and evening were
spent at home doing our taxes and laundry, both with good end results.

Lauren: I write this a lot but when your house is 100+ years old its the story of your life….so Saturday we did some work on the house. Sunday I caught up with a former work colleague in Dupont. I had ambitious plans for Monday but the weather was kind of a downer so the day got downgraded to a gym visit, the pet store and watching The Social Network with a big bowl of popcorn.

Jen: Started the weekend off Friday night with some yoga followed by dinner at friends’ house where we discussed, among other things, middle school. Saturday we ate lunch at Tortilla Cafe and wandered over to Barrack’s Row where Leah helped me with a spatula question and we looked at kids’ bikes at Capitol Hill Bikes. Sunday we hosted a playdate, had another middle school conversation, ended the day with dinner at our cousins’ in Southwest. Monday took  the family to Imagination Stage (in Bethesda  for goodness’ sake!) to see the charming Perseus Bayou.

Claudia: I ducked out of town for the long weekend (and extending mine to six glorious days) to visit an old friend in Barcelona where I enjoyed lots of art, history, food, cava, wine, and countless sights.
