It was a night of glitz and glamor, Hill-style. Sparkly dresses, leopard-print stilettos, some awesome paisley print tux pants and a feather boa or two. Toss in a couple of Councilmembers, plus all the class that comes with taking over the Atlas Performing Arts Center. Yes, it was the 3rd Annual Hilly Awards, where we honor our favorite local businesses! The public nominated and chose their favorite businesses in 12 categories this year, plus three special awards chosen by the event’s sponsor and driving force, CHAMPS, Capitol Hill’s Chamber of Commerce. Each year the event gets bigger and better, with this year’s setting at the Atlas definitely taking things up a notch.
Nominations started in September and final voting ended on October 28th, so I know you’ve been just dying to know who took home Hillys last night. Without further ado, the winners are …

I’ve never heard of the Queen Vic.
Queen Vic and Little Miss Whiskey’s are both on H street. Good places, but since when is the 1200 block of H street a part of Capitol Hill?
I’ve never heard of the Queen Vic.

H Street is considered the northern edge of the Hill and is covered by the blog all the time. The Hill Rag covers H Street monthly and several THIH bloggers live in the H Street neighborhood (myself included.) Many of the new businesses, including my employer the Atlas Performing Arts Center, are members of CHAMPS.
