We periodically share updates from your ANC commissioners, edited for brevity and clarity. Although these are most pertinent to particular single member districts (SMDs), we feel the information shared can be of interest to the whole Capitol Hill community. Are you an ANC commissioner who shares regular updates? Add thehillishome@gmail.com to your distribution list, please! –María Helena Carey and Kate McFadden

Dear Neighbors,

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a restful break. Here are a few opportunities to get involved this month.

ANC Meetings. Commissioners were sworn in this week for a two-year term. We have two new Commissioners on ANC6A: Ruth Ann Hudson (6A05) and Brian Alcorn (6A08). Join us at our meeting on Thursday January 10th at 7 PM at Miner Elementary–we will be voting on officers and committee members. Details and agenda here: www.anc6a.org or follow @ANC6A on Twitter for updates.

Maury Update. Construction at 1250 Constitution is continuing apace and the team has assured the community that they are on track for substantial completion by July 31 (note that DCPS just announced that the first day of school is August 26th). For those neighbors immediately adjacent to the site who would like direct updates on temporary parking closures and after-hours work notification please contact Nathan Morris at nathan.morris@dc.gov and he will add you to the distribution list. The latest update can be found here: https://sites.google.com/a/dc.gov/dcps-school-modernizations/home/maury-elementary-school
