Friday night the Hill Center continues its Friday night documentary series at 7pm with a movie about flying cars. Prodced by the Smithsonian Channel, the film discusses the development of and use of VTOLs (Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircrafts) which will really make the whole flying car thing so much more Jetsons-like. The filmaker Pip Gilmour (relation to Lorelai unknow) will be on hand to discuss the work. No mention of whether or not audience will get free rides on a VTOL which would be totally cool. Information and registration can be found here.

Saturday afternoon take a walking tour of the Rosedale neighborhood. The tour starts at 10 a.m. at the Rosedale LIbrary (1701 Gales Street NE) and will run for about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. if you are not familiar with Roasedale, it is roughly between 15th and 19th Streets and Benning Road and C Street NE.  The tour will focus on the oldest parts of the neighborhood, including Gales, Kramer and Rosedale Streets.  The buildings in the neighborhood represent a wide range of architectural styles, such as 19th Century wood-frame victorian duplexes, and the brick townhouses of the 1920s and will highlight buildings designed/constructed by notable Washington builders and architects..  The tour will include examples of various bricks/bricklaying techniques; roof and porch types; and inlaid and ‘pressed’ design elements on facades, as well as a history of the Rosedale neighborhood. The Capitol Hill Restoration Society (CHRS) and the Rosedale Citizens Alliance are co-sponsoring the tour, in conjunction with the Friends of the Rosedale Library.

It is time to engage your inner Miss Scarlet or Colonel Mustard because on Sunday night Labyrinth Games is again sponsoring a murder mystery night at Wisdom.  From 7pm to 10pm participants will get a character to play as well as two clues to help them solve the mystery. Tickets to the event are $55 and include a specialty cocktail and light hors d’ouevres. Space is limited but tickets are still available as of now. For more information go to the website.
