Hyattsville Arts Festival

The Sixth Annual Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival has expanded the line-up of the festival to over 75 arts and humanities booths including a “literary” section.
Look for two performance stages and of course, the ability to drink locally brewed Franklin’s beer throughout the festival grounds. For details click here.
The Festival is located at the intersection of Baltimore Avenue (Rhode Island Avenue/Route 1) & Jefferson Street in Hyattsville, MD.
Art Enables’ Off-Rhode Gallery
(1 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
On your way to (or back from) the Hyattsville Arts Festival, don’t forget to stop by Art Enables’ Off-Rhode Gallery to see the historical collages of accomplished artist John M. Williams who lives with autism. For details, click here.

39th Street Gallery
(5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
After the Festival, the 39th Street Gallery opens a three person exhibition curated by Jack Livingston. Tender Mercies includes artists Jan Razauskas, Ding Ren, and Gerald Ross who have created “intimate work based in humanistic values” according to the curator. For details, click here

Brentwood Arts Exchange
(5 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
Monica Jahan Bose in collaboration with women of the Katakhali Cooperative in Bangladesh and Filmmaker Nandita Ahmed present Layer By Layer: Storytelling with Saris. This compelling exhibition tells the story of 12 Katkhali island women who have survived the destructive force of successive cyclones only to rebuild again and again. For details, click here
